A Saturday Night Favorite!

Probably the first fast food 'chain' in Perry, the DQ quickly became a family favorite for an ice cream treat on a Sunday afternoon and a 'hang-out' for Perry teens.  This photo is of the first DQ which was built around 1955 on U.S. Hwy. 41,  a major route for 'nawthun' folk traveling to Florida and a well worn path by local teens.  If momma sent you for a a loaf of bread, the route was always up 41 to see just who might be at the DQ!  Later a DQ/Braizer combination was built a short distance away on Hwy. 41 and still operates today serving up sweet treats and.......amore' ...?
